It is said that Greater Noida will host some IPL matches in 2015 and the Jaypee Group is looking after the preparations for organizing IPL matches next year in its upcoming cricket stadium. The work is in progress of developing cricket stadium with international standards that will be completed in the next coming year.

Greater Noida has provided all the facilities for International Tournaments, like before it successfully hosted the country's first Formula One event and now it is going to host the IPL matches. Gautam Budh Nagar DM A V Rajamouli said, “ We haven't receive any information on the subject and we are not aware yet whether our district will host the next IPL season. If it is finalized, we will share the details."

Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association secretary and vice-president Rajiv Shukla said, "To host big tournaments like the IPL, a city should have at least two five-star hotels, which Kanpur does not have. Other than that a stadium with a minimum capacity of 50,000 spectators is a must for such events and thus UP's industrial capital cannot host an IPL game."
